Ghana earned a deserved first victory at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup but the win against Switzerland came too late to secure a knockout place.
The Black Princesses won 2-0 over the Swiss but the result in the other Group D where the USA beat Korea Republic 1-0 put paid to Ghana's efforts of qualifying.
After 31 minutes of play, captain Elizabeth Addo flicked Elizabeth Cudjoe's free-kick from the left into goal for the opener.
Ghana doubled their lead 11 minutes later when Cudjoe run onto Edem Atovor's long pass and slotted past Pascale Kueffer.
The Black Princesses, who were making their tournament debut ensured a clean sheet at the back as they bow out of the competition with four points from their three Group D games.
