UNCONFIRMED REPORTS reaching DAILY GUIDE SPORTS indicate that premiership club New Edubiase is being sold to prospective buyers at GH¢600,000.
Management of the young club was said to have reached this shocking decision due to a myriad of problems which characterized their debut in top flight football during the just-ended season.
Prominent among the problems include non-existence of stadium at New Edubiase which compelled the club to play their home matches at virtually empty stands at the Len Clay stadium.
“Playing home at Obuasi was like playing away and this had an effect on our overall performance and placing on the table,” a club source told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS.
Management was of the view that if they cannot play home matches at New Edubiase where the team could enjoy massive support then problems of last season would resurface.
“These are some of the problems which have forced management to sell the club to prospective buyers,” the source said, noting that management would rescind its decision if a mini stadium is constructed for the club at New Edubiase before the new season starts.
