Disappointing spells in Germany and Israel have led the once prodigious star to seek his fortune in his homeland once again.
Kweku Essien, the top star in the Ghanaian League two years ago, has followed ex-international goalkeeper Sammy Adjei back home after he flopped in Europe.
Essien, who until recently starred for Ashdod in Israel, has joined Eleven Wise for the second round of the season, which resumes on April 26.
The 24-year-old midfielder had a disastrous spell in the Israeli League and now wants to get his once promising career back on track.
He won the Most Valuable Player for the 2007 Ghanaian Premier League season at King Faisal only to flop at clubs in Germany and Israel.
Essien joined Hearts of Oak last season after failing to impress at lower German league club Osnabruck.
