Queens prepare for Brazil play-off

Ghana begins preparations for next month's Olympic women's play-off match against Brazil today.

Team coach, Mumuni Gamel has selected 23 players for the one-week training programme beginning today and running till March 28 at the national camp in Prampram.

Ghana plays Brazil in the women's qualification play-off match for a place in the Beijing Olympic Games after failing to clinch the automatic place from the African qualifiers on the last day following an away defeat to Nigeria.

The Black Queens will now play Brazil on April 19 in Beijing, at the Workers' Stadium in the play-off to determine who picks the last slot for the Olympic Games to vied for between a team from the CAF region and another from CONMEBOL.

Ghana's game against the Brazilians in the qualification play-off match will be played a day before the draw for the finals of the Olympic Football Tournaments 2008, takes place in Beijing.

Memunatu Sulemana, Lydia Ankara, Doreen Awuah, (Ghana Post), Gladys Quansah, Hamdya Abass, Olivia Amoako, Sekina Abdul Mumin, (Ghatel Ladies Tamale) Justin Tetteh, Aminatu Ibrahim, Florence Okoe, Adjoa Bayor, Sheila Okai, Anita Amenuku, Mamuna Darko, Anita Amankwah (Ghatel Ladies), Rumanatu Tahiru, Doris Nettey (Atlanta Ladies), Patience Kpobi, Gloria Foriwa (Ghana Police), Safia Abdul Rahman (Hasaacas Ladies), Ama Saabi Yaa Avoe(Ashanti Ladies) and Leticia Zikpe.
