Asante Kotoko assistant coach Diego Mendes Gomes Pinto Peral has been charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following an alleged assault on Medeama SC player Ebenezer Adade.
The incident reportedly occurred during Kotoko's Ghana Premier League clash against Medeama at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
In a statement issued on Monday, 2 November, the GFA confirmed that Peral had been charged with a breach of Article 12(1)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.
The Portuguese coach has been given until Wednesday, 4 November 2026, to respond to the charge and present his defence to the disciplinary committee.
The case follows the alleged altercation involving Peral and Adade during the league encounter, prompting the GFA to initiate disciplinary proceedings.
The association is expected to consider the coach's response before determining the appropriate course of action.
The development comes as the GFA continues to enforce its disciplinary regulations during the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
Any further sanctions will depend on the outcome of the disciplinary process.
