Black Maidens produced a spirited performance to draw 3-3 with Brazil in their second match at the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup on Wednesday.
The Black Maidens twice came from behind to secure a valuable point at the Mohammed V Stadium, recovering from their 3-0 defeat by Norway in their opening Group C match.
Brazil made a strong start and took the lead in the seventh minute through Nicolly, putting Ghana under early pressure.
However, the West Africans responded positively and drew level in the 31st minute when Rafia Osman found the net.
Ghana then completed a remarkable turnaround four minutes later, with Gloria Ameaa scoring to give the Black Maidens a 2-1 lead.
Their advantage did not last until half-time, as Kaillany Rafinah equalised for Brazil in the 44th minute to make it 2-2.
Brazil resumed the contest with renewed intent and regained the lead in the 57th minute through Indy, leaving Ghana facing the prospect of a second consecutive defeat.
But the Black Maidens refused to give up. Priscilla Mensah struck in the 85th minute to restore parity and earn Ghana a hard-fought draw.
The result gives Ghana their first point of the tournament, although they remain bottom of Group C after two matches.
The Black Maidens will face Canada in their final group game, knowing that a strong performance will be crucial to their hopes of progressing to the knockout stage.
