Former Black Stars assistant coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani says Ghana must adopt a structured and sustainable approach to rebuilding the senior national team following their poor start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ghana lost their opening two Group C matches against Ivory Coast and The Gambia, results that led to the resignation of head coach Carlos Queiroz.

Dramani believes the team needs greater unity, clear direction and continuity to restore its competitiveness and lay the foundation for long-term progress.

“We need a structured team for now. The team looks scattered, and we need a team, a unit that can bring people together, that can begin to groom the team again,” the former Hearts of Oak coach told 3Sports.

“And this is a process, and that is where we are lacking.”

The former Black Stars assistant coach also stressed that rebuilding the national team should not be driven solely by the need for immediate results, but by a clearly defined vision and a consistent strategy.

He said Ghana must be deliberate in its planning and establish a clear pathway to guide the team's development.

“We need to be deliberate, we need to be consistent, we need to be sustainable in terms of how we want what we want. Sometimes we don't; you don't really know what we want. We need to have a clear pathway of what we want,” he added.

Meanwhile, Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren will lead an interim technical team for Ghana's November double-header against Somalia in the AFCON qualifiers.

Ibrahim Tanko and Godwin Attram will serve as assistant coaches, while Fatawu Dauda has been appointed goalkeeping coach.

The Black Stars are bottom of Group C without a point after two matches and face the challenge of reviving their qualification campaign.

Ghana are seeking a return to the continental showpiece after failing to qualify for the previous edition, which was hosted by Morocco.
