Ghanaian trio dessert Nigerian club

Three Ghanaian players who joined Nigeiran side Sharks at the start of the season have all left due to poor welfare conditions at the club.

The players, Joe Tagoe, Charles Asamoah and Johnson Eklu left for the Christmas break but vowed never to return until their entitlements are paid to them.

"The players have all gone," Sharks Media Officer, Cyril Dum said.

"In fact they had to borrow money from friends before they could travel back to Ghana and they vowed never to return until they are paid.

"But we are optimistic they will return because they must have heard that the players were paid on Monday so we expect them back any time from now."

Reports say Joe Tagoe (Bobby Short) who signed from Hearts of Oak left the club's camp at Mgbuogba, a town near Port Harcourt when he suffered a bout of malaria and had to be hospitalised.

"He left the camp because he had previously fallen ill and also the epileptic power situation we had.

"In fact the coach had to put him in a hotel so he does not get infected again at the camp and he stayed in the hotel until he went back to Ghana.

"But they will return. I am sure of that," Dum Wite said.
