King Faisal owner Alhaji Karim Grusah has called on Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku to resign following the Black Stars' recent struggles.

Grusah's comments come after Ghana missed out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and made a difficult start to their qualifying campaign for the 2027 tournament.

The Black Stars have lost both of their opening Group C matches, suffering a 2-0 defeat away to Côte d'Ivoire before conceding four goals in a 4-2 home loss to The Gambia.

The results have left Ghana without a point from their first two matches and facing an uphill task in their bid to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations.

Speaking to Channel One TV on the sidelines of the NPP National Delegates Conference in Kumasi, Grusah criticised the GFA's leadership and called for Okraku to step down.

Asked to rate the Black Stars' performance against The Gambia, Grusah said: "Zero. The GFA president should resign... he's a liar. He should resign."

His comments add to growing criticism of the GFA following a difficult period for Ghana's senior national team.

Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz resigned after the poor start to the 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign.

The GFA and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation have since agreed on measures to restructure the technical set-up, including the formation of a five-member committee tasked with finding a new head coach for the national team.

Ghana will next face Somalia in a double-header in November, with both matches scheduled to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Black Stars will need a significant improvement in their results to revive their qualification hopes after failing to reach the 2025 AFCON finals in Morocco.

With Ghana yet to register a point in Group C, the November matches against Somalia could prove crucial to their hopes of returning to the continental tournament.
