Meet the newly elected national executives to lead NPP return to power in 2028

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has ushered in a new national leadership team, with former General Secretary John Boadu taking over as National Chairman for the next four years.

Mr Boadu emerged victorious at the party’s National Executive Conference in Kumasi on Saturday, securing 2,888 votes to become the party’s new chairman.

He will work alongside Justin Kodua Frimpong, who retained his position as General Secretary after polling 4,486 votes.

The party also elected Kojo Fosu Boadu, Henry Nana Boakye, Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid and Nana Akomea as National Vice Chairpersons.

At the other levels of the national executive structure, Alfred Kojo Thompson was elected National Treasurer with 2,243 votes, while Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover secured the National Organiser position with 2,964 votes.

Abagna Yakubu Fusani emerged as Youth Organiser after obtaining 1,550 votes, while Mavis Hawa Koomson was elected Women's Organiser with 782 votes.

Mohammed Ali Suraj also secured the position of National Nasara Organiser with 372 votes, while Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye was elected Communication Director.

The new leadership is expected to take charge of the NPP’s organisational and political affairs as the party begins preparations for the next phase of its political activities.

A major task before the team will be to strengthen the party’s structures and coordinate its activities as it works towards its stated objective of returning the NPP to power in the 2028 general elections.

With the new executives now in place, the four-year tenure will be critical to the party’s efforts to consolidate its internal organisation and position itself for the next national electoral contest.
