Brandon Thomas-Asante has been handed a late call-up to the Ghana squad after Prince Adu Kwabena was ruled out of the Black Stars' upcoming international matches through injury.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz drafted in the Coventry City forward after Adu Kwabena sustained a head injury while playing for Czech side Viktoria Plzen.
The former Bechem United striker came on in the 70th minute of Viktoria Plzen's Czech First League match against Slavia Prague on Sunday but was unable to finish the game.
He was stretchered off in the 90th minute after receiving treatment on the pitch, raising immediate concerns over his availability for Ghana's opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Following further medical assessment, Adu Kwabena was withdrawn from the squad, paving the way for Thomas-Asante's return to the national team.
The 26-year-old is expected to add experience and competition to Queiroz's attacking options as Ghana prepare for a busy international window.
The Black Stars open their AFCON qualifying campaign away to Côte d'Ivoire on 24 September before hosting Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on 29 September.
Ghana will then travel to face Morocco in an international friendly, giving Queiroz another opportunity to assess his squad ahead of future competitions.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Kudus has also withdrawn from the squad as he continues his recovery after a lengthy injury lay-off.
