Ghana forward Prince Adu Kwabena is a major doubt for the Black Stars' opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after suffering a head injury while playing for Czech side Viktoria Plzeň.
The 22-year-old was stretchered off during Plzeň's 2-1 defeat by Slavia Prague in the Czech First League, raising concerns over his availability for Ghana's matches against Côte d'Ivoire and Gambia.
Plzeň head coach Radoslav Kováč said the club was still awaiting an update on the striker's condition.
"I don't have any information yet. Hopefully it won't be anything serious, but I haven't spoken to the doctors yet," Kováč said.
Adu Kwabena now faces an anxious wait to learn whether he will be cleared in time for the international window.
His absence would be another setback for Ghana, who have already lost Mohammed Kudus after the midfielder opted to remain with his club to complete his recovery from a long-term injury that ruled him out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars begin their Group C qualifying campaign away to Côte d'Ivoire before returning to the Accra Sports Stadium to host Gambia five days later.
Carlos Queiroz's side will then round off the international window with a friendly against Morocco on 4 October.
