My ambition is to see Medeama win CAF Champions League title, says club president Moses Armah

Medeama SC president Moses Armah says his ultimate ambition is to see the Ghanaian champions lift the CAF Champions League trophy as the club prepares for another crack at Africa's biggest club competition.

The Mauve and Yellow host five-time champions TP Mazembe at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa on Sunday in the first leg of their preliminary-round tie, with the return fixture set to be played in Lubumbashi a week later.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Armah said he was delighted to see a long-held dream of bringing CAF Champions League football to Tarkwa become a reality.

"I'm very, very happy and very, very excited all the time. In the beginning, that was my wish, and it's coming true," he said.

However, the Medeama president insisted that simply competing in the tournament would not satisfy his ambitions, saying the club's journey would only be complete when it wins the continental title.

"I've not been there yet until I hold the CAF Champions League in Tarkwa," he added.

Medeama enjoyed their best-ever run in the competition during the 2023-24 campaign, when they reached the group stage on their debut appearance in Africa's premier club tournament.

The Ghanaian champions now face one of the continent's most decorated clubs as they seek another memorable run on the African stage.
