Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has been omitted from Tottenham Hotspur's squad for the club's pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia as he continues his rehabilitation from a long-term injury.
The Black Stars midfielder has been out of action since January and is yet to regain full fitness. Tottenham's medical team is taking a cautious approach to his recovery, opting against rushing him back into competitive action ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Kudus is among several notable absentees from Roberto De Zerbi's 35-man travelling squad, which was announced following Spurs' 1-0 pre-season victory over MK Dons on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old will remain in England to continue his rehabilitation programme before rejoining first-team training when deemed fully fit.
Sweden international Dejan Kulusevski has also been left behind as he continues recovering from a serious knee injury. Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons are unavailable after suffering cruciate ligament injuries, while goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario misses the tour due to a minor injury.
Despite the lengthy injury list, De Zerbi will use the tour to assess several of Tottenham's new signings ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Summer arrivals Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Andy Robertson, Jan Paul van Hecke and Martin Dubravka have all been included in the travelling party and are expected to feature prominently as the Italian manager continues to build his squad.
Meanwhile, Argentine defender Marcos Senesi has been granted extended leave after representing his country at the FIFA World Cup.
