Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has called on the Black Stars to open their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with a win against Panama.
Ghana begin their Group L campaign on Wednesday, June 17, at BMO Field, where they will be aiming to bounce back from a run of inconsistent results.
Daara believes a positive start is essential if the four-time African champions are to advance beyond the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“It is crucial for Black Stars to beat Panama to secure all three points to keep their chances of playing in the knockout phase alive,” he told Asempa FM.
The Black Stars have already arrived in Toronto and are scheduled to hold a mandatory training session ahead of the clash.
After facing Panama, Ghana will take on England at Gillette Stadium on June 23, before concluding their group fixtures against Croatia on June 27 as they push for a place in the knockout rounds for the first time since 2010.
