President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has expressed strong belief in the Black Stars’ ability to deliver at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting the squad carries the hunger and quality needed to make the nation proud.

Speaking at a farewell dinner for the team at the Hilton Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia, on Wednesday, Okraku said he remains optimistic about Ghana’s prospects in Group L, while also addressing members of the Ghanaian diaspora in attendance.

He noted that the current squad possesses both talent and determination, qualities he believes will be key in their campaign.

“I strongly believe in these players and, over time, they have proven that they have the quality, the talent, the hunger and the desire to make Ghana proud," he said.

The Black Stars have been fine-tuning their preparations in the United States, training initially at American University before relocating to Virginia to complete their build-up to the tournament. The team has since arrived at their official camping base in Rhode Island.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia. They will open their campaign against Panama at BMO Field on June 17, before facing England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. Their final group match will be against Croatia on June 27.
