Fenerbahçe vice-president Ertan Torunoğullari has confirmed that the Turkish club is keen on signing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah ahead of next summer’s transfer window.
Salah has already announced that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the current season, bringing an end to a remarkable nine-year spell at Anfield.
Turkish media reports have since detailed early discussions between Fenerbahçe and the player’s camp, with Torunoğullari revealing that talks have already taken place.
"I held two meetings with Mohamed Salah's agent in the past few days, and we discussed the possibility of him joining us,” he told Lila Kora in an interview.
He added that the Egyptian forward remains a key target for the Istanbul-based club, saying: "Fenerbahce has a strong interest in signing Mohamed Salah this summer, and he is one of our main targets."
Meanwhile, Salah recently picked up a minor injury during Liverpool’s clash with Crystal Palace.
However, the club has confirmed that the forward is expected to return before the end of the season.
