Ghana’s Black Maidens delivered a commanding performance to secure a crucial away victory over Togo in their 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign in Lomé on Sunday.
In the first-leg encounter at the Stade de Kégué, teenager Priscilla Mensah set the tone early, opening the scoring in the 16th minute with a composed finish after a well-worked attacking move.
The forward maintained her impressive form after the break, doubling Ghana’s advantage in the 64th minute with a clinical strike following another swift attacking sequence.
Her brace proved decisive as the Black Maidens sealed a vital win on the road, placing them firmly in control ahead of the return leg.
With the advantage secured, Ghana will now turn attention to the decisive second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, April 18, where the Black Maidens will aim to complete the job and book their place in the next round of the qualifiers.
