Ghana coach Otto Addo remains confident in his squad’s readiness despite the absence of several key players ahead of upcoming friendlies against Austria and Germany.
Injuries have sidelined Mohammed Salisu, Mohammed Kudus, and Francis Abu, while Inaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante also withdrew from the squad due to fitness concerns.
Addressing the media, Addo acknowledged the setbacks but emphasized the team’s resilience.
"If someone gets injured, it is not always a good situation," the 50-year-old said.
"Inaki has a good form, and Brandon came from an injury and started scoring a lot of goals, but we feel sorry for them because we want to allow them to show themselves, but without them, the team is in good shape."
Addo revealed that Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer has been called up as a replacement, but he stressed the importance of focusing on the matches ahead rather than dwelling on absences.
"Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer came in to replace them, but we have to focus on what is ahead of us because there is still time, and there is no need to look behind at those who could be here but others who are also injured. I hope that everybody will be ready for the World Cup," he added.
Ghana will face Austria on Friday, March 27, at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, with kick-off set for 17:00 GMT, before traveling to Stuttgart to take on Germany on Monday, March 30.
