Manhyia Palace has unveiled a new Board of Directors for Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, following appointments made by His Majesty Osei Tutu II.
In a press statement issued on February 27, 2026, and signed by the Chief of Staff at Manhyia, Kofi Badu, the Palace confirmed that the reconstituted board will oversee the strategic direction of the Kumasi-based club.
The new board will be chaired by Mr James Osei Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Joshob Construction. He will be assisted by Mr Kwasi Osei Ofori, Chief Executive Officer of Rocksure, who takes up the role of Vice-Chairman.
Also appointed to the board is Mr Kofi Amoa-Abban, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rigworld Group.
According to the statement, the newly constituted board is expected to immediately assume its statutory oversight responsibilities.
However, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) will continue to handle the day-to-day management of the club until the conclusion of the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season.
Earlier on Thursday, the Chief of Staff at Manhyia presided over a meeting during which the new board members were formally introduced to the IMC. He called for close collaboration between both bodies to ensure a seamless transition.
Speaking at the meeting, the incoming Chairman, Mr Osei Brown, expressed the board’s commitment to restoring the club to its desired heights and urged the management team to intensify their efforts in the remaining weeks of the season.
Nana Akwasi Awuah Apinkrah, Chairman of the IMC, welcomed the new board and pledged the committee’s full support throughout the transition period.
The announcement marks a significant administrative shift for Asante Kotoko SC as the club looks to strengthen its governance structure and chart a renewed course on and off the pitch.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will host Vision FC in the Matchday 24 games at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled at 15:30 GMT.
