Serie A side Atalanta BC are closing in on signing Kamaldeen Sulemana from English Championship side Southampton.
Atalanta is expected to pay a fee worth 18 million euros for the service of the 24-year-old.
Reports in the Italian media suggest the Ghana international will sign a four-year deal with the side with an option of another year.
Should the deal get finalised, Sulemana will team up with former manager Ivan Juric, who has replaced Gianpiero Gasperini ahead coach of the club. Both worked together at Southampton in the just-concluded season.
Under Juric, Sulemana had his most consistent run of appearances and delivered his best performance of the 2024-2025 campaign in Southampton’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Juric left Southampton after the club’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed.
Sulemana scored two goals and added three assists in 30 games in all competitions at Southampton last season.
