Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams described his team's 2-0 victory over Fenerbahçe as a positive result for the club.
The Spanish side triumphed on Wednesday night, with the Ghana international scoring both goals in the 5th and 45th minutes.
The win moved Bilbao to the top of their Europa League group with 16 points from six matches, maintaining their unbeaten record.
Speaking after the match, Williams reflected on the challenge of winning in a difficult environment.
“The truth is that coming to Turkey and getting this result is very positive for us. We are happy that thousands of fans joined and we hope that you have enjoyed today…because it has been tough. It couldn’t work out better. I think that in the end, going 2-0 up always weakens the opposing team," he said.
“We knew that coming here to Turkey was going to be complicated. “I think the team has played a great game in general," he added.
With eight goals in all competitions, Williams will look to maintain his strong form when Athletic Bilbao face Alaves in La Liga on Sunday.
