Asante Kotoko has confirmed restructuring the Interim Management Committee (IMC) following a directive from His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Manhyia Palace.

In a statement released by the club on Monday, the club confirmed that Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum will no longer serve as a member of the IMC.

This decision, according to the club, is aimed at allowing Dr. Ogum to concentrate fully on his primary role as the head coach of the club.

“This decision has been made to allow Dr. Ogum to fully dedicate his efforts to his primary role as Head Coach, with a continued focus on leading the team to success on the pitch and advancing the club's sporting objectives,” the statement read.

The restructuring forms part of the club’s commitment to optimising its operations and aligning with the vision set forth by Manhyia Palace. The IMC will continue to provide strong leadership, improve administrative processes, and support the playing and technical teams.

Asante Kotoko expressed gratitude to its supporters for their unwavering backing during this transitional phase and reiterated its commitment to achieving sustained success.

“The IMC remains resolutely focused on providing strong, effective leadership, enhancing administrative processes, and offering unwavering support to the playing and technical teams. Asante Kotoko remains united in its pursuit of excellence,” the statement added.

The IMC was named prior to the start of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. After Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi's exit, the other members of the IMC now include former Ghana head coach, James Akwasi Appiah and Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah.

The changes come at a time when the club is undergoing strategic adjustments to position itself for long-term success both on and off the pitch.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered four consecutive defeats before winning 2-0 against Aduana Stars in Dormaa on matchday 11 in the new Premier League season.
