Rev. Osei Kofi, a two-time Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champion with Ghana's Black Stars, has urged Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku to consider stepping down if he intends to pursue a career as a football agent.
His comments come after Okraku was seen in Germany watching the Black Satellites play a friendly against Germany’s U-20 team, while the Black Stars were preparing for a pivotal AFCON qualifier against Sudan in Libya.
The match ended in a 0-0 draw at Accra Sports Stadium, and the Black Stars later lost 2-0 to Sudan, putting their qualification for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco in jeopardy.
"The president of the football association was absent during Ghana's match against Sudan. Instead, he chose to focus on his football business outside the Black Stars game, leaving the management of the Black Stars to others," the Asante Kotoko legend said.
"If he wants to pursue a career as a football agent, he should resign from his position as the president of the association and dedicate himself fully to that path," he advised.
Ghana currently stands third in Group F, with just two points from four matches. To remain in contention for AFCON qualification, the Black Stars must win their upcoming games against Angola and Niger, while hoping Sudan loses its last two matches.
