The $1.8 million multi-purpose Youth Resource Centre in Koforidua in the Eastern Region was on Wednesday inaugurated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
It is the old Koforidua Sports Stadium which has been rehabilitated and converted into the Youth Resource Centre with many other sporting infrastructure added to it.

Construction works on the facility started in March 2018.
The 5,000-capacity facility is to help unearth and nurture sporting talents in the Eastern Region.
It is also to promote various sporting disciplines such as soccer, athletics, table tennis, volleyball basketball among others.
The facility consists of a standard FIFA pitch, eight-lane tartan tracks for athletics, a gymnasium and centres for taekwondo, and badminton, a restaurant, an entrepreneurship centre to train the youth and a career counselling centre among others.
President Akufo-Addo performed the ceremonial kickoff for a soccer match between Kotoku Royals and Black Satellites, which ended goalless.
The President then unveiled a plaque amidst cheers.
Present at the ceremony included the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, Adwesohene, Nana Tete Pinpong, members of Parliament, some traditional rulers and queen mothers.
President Akufo-Addo then told the enthusiastic gathering that similar facilities were being provided in various parts of the country.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong stated that the long-awaited dream and aspirations of the people of Koforidua had come to fruition with the completion of the monumental edifice.
He said the importance of youth empowerment could never be underestimated because the youth were the core of the absolute strength of every nation.
Mr Acheampong noted that the chiefs and people of Koforidua as well as the entire Eastern Region were grateful to President Akufo-Addo for remembering them in the distribution of the national cake.
