The Black Queens of Ghana impressed on Tuesday evening to beat their counterpart from Benin 2-0.
Ghana locked horns with Benin at the Accra Sports Stadium in a second-leg tie of the second round of the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games.
Before today’s game, the Black Queens had travelled to Cotonou to secure a 3-0 victory in the first leg of the tie.
In today’s game, the Black Queens faced a tough test as the opponent defended very well in the first half.
Although the Queens would create chances, they could not find the back of the net before the break.
After recess, the Black Queens improved their performance and opened the scoring in the 65th minute.
A strike from attacker Evelyn Badu propelled Ghana to beat Benin 2-0 at the end of the 90 minutes.
The second goal for the Black Queens was an own goal.
After the 5-0 aggregate win over Benin, the Black Queens of Ghana are through to the third round of the qualifiers for the 2023 Olympic Games in France.
