New Hearts of Oak signing, Kofi Agbesimah has called on the fans to rally behind the club ahead of the 223/24 Ghana Premier League season.

The experienced defender joined the Phobians from Bechem United on a three-year deal.

Agbesimah has been preparing with his teammates ahead of the new season.

Having finished 12th last season, the central defender has called on the fans to support the club.

“I’m happy to join the Hearts of Oak family. The fans welcomed me well to the team and I’m extremely grateful to them. I will plead with them to continue supporting the team as we approach the new season," he told the club website.

Since joining Bechem in 2018 from lower-tier team Bectero FC, Agbesimah has been one of the constant players in the Ghanaian top flight.

He made 125 appearances for the Hunters over the course of the last five Ghana League seasons, scoring six goals.

For Bechem, Agbesimah has participated in more than 30 games each of the last three years.

In the 2022–23 season, during which he scored four goals, he only missed one game helping his team finish third in the league standings. He was also the captain of the Hunters.

Hearts of Oak will begin their campaign with an away game against Real Tamale United.
