The Black Princesses of Ghana made a strong start to the WAFU Zone B U-20 Girls tournament at the Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Yusif Basigi's side displayed a dazzling performance and secured an impressive 3-0 victory over Benin.
Benin struggled to match their Ghanaian opponents in all areas of the pitch.
Ghana had an early chance from a free kick in the seventh minute, but Stella Nyamekye's shot was saved by Benin's goalkeeper.
Maafia Nyame broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, capitalizing on the intense pressure Ghana applied in Benin's half.
Stella Nyamekye made another attempt to extend Ghana's lead in the 40th minute, but her effort was saved.
In the second half, the Black Princesses continued their attacking approach and came close to scoring in the 58th minute when Helen Alormenu headed over from a beautiful pass by Wasima.
Mary Amponsah, who caused a lot of problems for Benin, extended Ghana's lead in the 61st minute.
Stella Nyamekye then made it 3-0 in the 68th minute with a free kick from the edge of the box, sealing a convincing victory for Ghana.
