Premier League side, Crystal Palace is the latest club to join the race to sign Ghana defender, Mohammed Salisu this summer.
Despite a brilliant start, Salisu was relegated to the bench due to injuries.
Southampton, however, were relegated over the weekend following their 2-0 home defeat against Fulham at the Saints Mary's.
With the summer window getting close, Palace have identified the 24-year-old as a top target.
Salisu joined the Saints from Real Valladolid in the summer transfer window of 2020 and has since become a key player for the team.
Salisu made his Southampton debut on 11 February 2021, six months after signing for the club, playing the full 90 minutes and keeping a clean sheet in a 2–0 FA Cup away victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers as Danny Ings and Stuart Armstrong scored a goal each to send Southampton through to the quarter-finals of the competition.
He made 22 appearances and assisted one goal in the Premier League this season.
Salisu could not feature in Ghana's back-to-back games against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers played in March due to injury.
