Ghana forward Mohammed Kudus was the hero for Ajax on Sunday afternoon as he scored the winning goal for the team against NEC Nijmegen.
The Black Stars poster boy started for his team today in the Week 24 game of the Dutch Eredivisie played at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Although Ajax would dominate the first half of the contest, the team could not find a way past the resolute NEC Nijmegen defense to score.
Thankfully after the halftime break, the team succeeded in getting a goal. It was all thanks to a close-range finish from in-form Ghana attacker Mohammed Kudus.
His goal propelled Ajax to secure a narrow 1-0 win against NEC Nijmegen to ensure the team bagged three crucial points to pile pressure on Feyenoord, the team on top of the Dutch Eredivisie standings.
Following his top performance today, Mohammed Kudus finished the game with a high rating of 7.2.
With his goal today, Mohammed Kudus now has 10 goals in the Dutch Eredivisie. He also has one assist after making 23 appearances in the Dutch top-flight league.
The youngster will be the star for Ghana later this month during the next round of games in the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
