Powerful striker, Kofi Kordzi netted a brace for Hearts of Oak on Wednesday afternoon as the Phobians defeated Berekum Chelsea 2-0 in the Ghana Premier League.
The defending champions of the Ghana Premier League today hosted the Blues at the Cape Coast Stadium to clear one of three outstanding matches.
Looking to climb higher on the standings of the division, Coach Samuel Boadu named a strong starting lineup today although he had to do without first-choice goalkeeper Richard Attah who is away on international duties.
Second goalkeeper Richmond Ayi who commanded the defense did a great job as he pulled some fantastic saves to help the team to keep a clean sheet.
With the midfielder also doing a great job, Kofi Kordzi made the job in the attack effortless as he scored in both halves to propel Hearts of Oak to cruise past Berekum Chelsea with a deserved 2-0 win.
Courtesy of today’s three points, Hearts of Oak have moved to 9th on the Ghana Premier League table and still with two outstanding games to play.
