The head coach for the Ghana male senior national team, CK Akonnor has handed call-ups to three players from the National Division One League ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against South Africa.
The Black Stars will in March take on the Bafana Bafana in a crucial clash on matchday 5 of the group stage of the qualifiers to next year’s continental showpiece.
Starting preparations early, Ghana head coach CK Akonnor has handed invitations to 32 home-based players.
The squad surprisingly has three players from the Division One League. Evans Etti, the current top scorer in the Division has been given his maiden call-up to the national team alongside attackers Andy Kumi Francis and Welbeck Takyi.
The trio will begin camping with 29 players from the Ghana Premier League next week in hopes of making it into the final squad for the South Africa encounter in March.
