WAFA SC on Sunday afternoon posted a 5-0 thumping win over Liberty Professionals in the Ghana Premier League to bag three crucial points.
The two teams today locked horns at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope for a matchday 11 encounter in the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.
Despite both teams making strides in the first half, neither side could get on the scoresheet and settled for a draw at halftime.
In the second half, WAFA SC took control of the game and dominated the visitors with their sleek passing play.
Fortunately, in the 55th minute, the efforts of the home team paid off when defender Konadu Yiadom scored with a good effort.
With momentum on the side of the Academy lads, they dazzled with their delightful play and scored again through Marvin Owusu in the 67th minute to double their lead.
Later on, goals from Sampson Agyapong and Augustine Boakye dragged the three points beyond the reach of Liberty Professionals before Konadu Yiadom netted his second of the afternoon in the 80th minute to wrap up the 5-0 thrashing.
The results see WAFA SC climbing to fourth on the Ghana Premier League table with 18 points after playing 11 matches.
