Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Ajibade, widely known as Mr Eazi, has revealed a missed opportunity to meet his idol, Jay-Z, because of a prior performance commitment.
Speaking in a recent interview with BBC Focus On Africa, the artiste explained that he was contracted to perform at a concert on the same day as the premiere for the 'Lion King' music project, which he had worked on with Beyoncé.
Mr Eazi said he had been invited to the movie premiere where the American hip-hop icon was scheduled to attend. According to the singer, he opted to honor his paid performance gig, adding that he believes if he is meant to meet Jay-Z, it will happen another time.
The husband of Temi Otedola noted that his admiration for Jay-Z spans both music and entrepreneurship.
Additionally, he disclosed that he is actively involved in business activities across more than 20 African countries, explaining that his team is currently investing in sports with a long-term goal.
He said:
"I look up to Jay-Z in both music and entrepreneurship. I worked with Beyoncé on the Lion King music project. I was supposed to go to the movie premiere. Jay-Z was going to be there. But I was already paid to perform at a concert. So, I was like, 'Okay, if I am meant to meet Jay-Z, it would happen another time'."
"Right now, there are over 20 countries where I am directly or indirectly involved in business activities across Africa. Right now, we are investing in sports with a long-term goal."
