Driver allegedly attempted to rape Her Madam

A private driver, Semiu Muritala, 32, has been arraigned before Apapa Magistrate's Court, Lagos State Southwest Nigeria for allegedly attempting to rape his employer, Alhaja Funke Shofolan, 50.

Source gathered that after Muritala was employed as the madam's driver, he allegedly demanded sex from her when there was nobody in the house.

The Ibadan, Oyo State-born Muritala was alleged to have sneaked into the Alhaja's bedroom and demanded sex from her. When she did not give in to his request, he reportedly tore her pant and pushed her on a bed and attempted to rape her.

The victim raised alarm that attracted their neighbours including the Baale in the area who invited the police.

The incident allegedly happened at 6, Ofuri Street, Ojora Estate, Amukoko, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.

Source gathered from the defendant that he has driven Alhaja for almost two years and decided to resign.

He said his ordeal started when he told her that he was resigning and she decided to level the allegation against him.

He said he has pleaded with her and promised to return to work.

When Muritala was charged before Apapa Magistrate's Court presided over by Mrs. A. K. Shonubi for attempting to rape his boss under section 260 of the criminal code law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011, he pleaded not guilty.
