The Founder and Leader of Ghana Freedom Party, Akua Donkor has lambasted the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for dragging the Electoral Commission (EC) to court over its decision to go ahead with the compilation of the new voter’s register.
There were calls by Ghanaians on the EC to suspend its planned compilation of the new voter’s register following President Akufo-Addo’s ban on all public gatherings to avoid further spread of the deadly coronavirus outbreak in the country.
But the EC insisted it will still go ahead with its planned compilation of the new voter’s register compilation exercise.
This provoked the opposition NDC to drag the EC to court over contempt on the President’s directive.
In support of the EC, the Ghana Freedom Party said it is enraged at NDC's lawsuit against Electoral Commission Boss Madam Jean Mensa.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE FOUNDER OF GHANA FREEDOM PARTY OVER NDC`s LAWSUIT AGAINST JEAN MENSAH
20TH MARCH, 2020.
I am enraged at NDC's lawsuit against Electoral Commission Boss Madam Jean
Mensah over the decision of the commission to compile a new voters’ register for the 2020 elections.
The NDC is not clean to summon Jean Mensah before the Law Court.
To commence with, In the year 2016, the NDC government led by Former
President John Dramani Mahama connived with Former EC Boss Madam
Charlotte Osei to disqualify my candidacy citing that, my forms was freight with errors.
This declaration by Madam Charlotte Osei, up-to-date is controvertible.
Also, The Electoral Commission according to Article 46 of the 1992 constitution is the only body mandated to conduct Free, Fair and Transparent Election so, if the country wants a free, fair and transparent elections which the Commission has assured, getting a new Register shouldn't be a problem.
Last but not least, Madam Charlotte Osei destroyed the original logo of the EC and wasted money to change it but if Jean Mensah is coming to help us get a Credible Register, I think we should even rally our support behind her.
CONCLUSION:
The Court as we all know is a citadel of Justice so I am set to drag Madam
Charlotte Osei and the NDC to court for disqualifying me from the 2016 Elections.
I won't allow the NDC and the Former EC boss to go scort free after this inhumane treatment meted out to me.
