Kumasi, Dec 31, GNA - The police in the Ashanti region have arrested four persons suspected to be members of a fake currency printing syndicate operating in the Kumasi metropolis. The suspects are Isaac Owusu, 30, Kwabena Nketia, 27, Benjamin Kwaku Owusu, 32 and Yaw Ghartey, 30. According to ACP Adu-Poku, the Regional Police Commander, the suspects were arrested on Thursday night by a police patrol team in the metropolis, after the driver of the taxi in which they were travelling refused when asked to do so. He said the patrol team chased the taxi and arrested them. ACP Adu-Poku said a search of the vehicle revealed a machine used in the printing of fake currencies and quantities of papers cut in the sizes of various cedi denominations.
