This year's National Policy Summit which is slated for Monday 10th December, will host about eight Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of eight State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) who will share the details of how they successfully transformed their operations over the last 23 months.

They are also expected to explain the tangible results of their work so far and the significance of these gains to the national economic renaissance.

Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Information, said this would take place the entire day in Takoradi, at the Fifth National Policy Summit.

The SOEs include the Accra Digital Centre, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) and the State Housing Company.

Others are Food and Drugs Authority, National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP), Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) and the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining.

The theme for this year's final NPS is: 'Improving Performance in State Owned Enterprises'.

Addressing a media conference, on Wednesday, in Accra, Mr Oppong Nkrumah recalled that at the beginning of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Administration, major challenges were announced in some SOEs as well as in some sectors of our national economy.

He said the work of the Boards, CEOs and staff of these enterprises had culminated in a turnaround in a significant number of SOEs and sectors.

'GFZA, for example, has recorded over a billion dollars in exports so far, Accra Digital Centre for example has deployed a mechanism that has created over 1000 jobs in their sector alone and State Housing Company 250,' he said.

'The CEOs will subject their works to scrutiny under the auspices of the State Enterprises Commission and it is our expectation that their stories will challenge others to achieve similar successes; while offering stakeholders an opportunity to engage and give feedback.'
