The Amenfi Central District Assembly has donated building materials and other items to the victims who lost their properties and means of livelihood through flood as a result of a heavy downpour in July....... 2018, the devastating incident saw about 30 building crumbled whiles 15 others dislodged.
The item comprises of 700 bags of cement, 50 packets of aluminum roofing sheets 12 mattresses and food items.
Speaking to Modern Ghana, The District Chief Executive Hon Patrick Hockson Amponteng expressed his condolence to the victims for the loss of properties and disclosed that following the unfortunate incident immediate steps has been taken to avoid reoccurance, thus , the surrounding chocked water bodies which served as catalyst to the flood has been dredged, and the Assembly is Liasing with the Government to replace the displaced bridge.
Mr Stephen Bill Nyarko, the District Nadmo Director recounted, they are Saddened by the impact of the tragic incident and promise to work in hand with the district assembly to eliminate this menace completely since this is not the first time these communities have suffered this ordeal.
The items were received by the Assemblyman of Manso Amenfi, Hon. Alex Emmanuel Nti and the Chief of the affected Community Alhaji Sulemana Bukari. They expressed their appreciation for the donation and were thankful to the DCE and the District Assembly however, they promise to do diligent distribution to ensure all the affected persons get their share.
