Is Dr Opuni’s House Now A Bank Of Ghana In Disguise?

Is Dr Opunis House Now A Bank Of Ghana In Disguise?
17.03.2018 LISTEN

I am shocked beyond disbelief. I cannot find words to describe the cold chill that descended down my spine with goose bumps filling my entire skin when I received a WhatsApp video on the money Dr Kwabena Opuni, the former Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, is alleged to have stored in his house. If it is true as posted on WhatsApp, may I then ask if his house is a mini- Bank of Ghana or a bank of some sort?

There is evidence to the fact that Ghana owes many international countries and companies tons of cocoa in arrears. They had paid us in advance to supply them cocoa beans of which we could not meet the demand as paid for hence always owing them before we even harvest the cocoa beans for the following year.

For all these years with Ghana once being the first cocoa producing country in the world but now the second to Ivory Coast, we have never been able to find our own money to purchase the cocoa from the farmers. We always have to secure advance money from foreign countries and companies that need our cocoa beans. Is there any sense in this? Are we not being stupid by mismanaging our affairs for all these years?

We should not go borrowing money to buy cocoa from the farmers anymore. We should have our own reserve money to purchase cocoa from farmers if the silly corruption and the crimes as perpetrated and perpetuated by Dr Opuni and his likes cease.

This nonsense has come about as a result of people like Dr Opuni colluding with others to steal the borrowed money meant for purchasing cocoa and stashing his share which runs into millions of US$ in his house according to the WhatsApp video. Should the veracity of the video be certified as alleged, then Dr Opuni must be hurriedly tried and sent to prison where the prison inmates may maltreat him.

I wish he was in Ivory Coast to be given an instance justice of chewing a big bowl of raw hot pepper like a thief in Ivory Coast is seen on WhatsApp being compelled to chew without access to even a drop of water to calm the pain he is going through.

Now, Kofi Adams should come out to explain to Ghanaians why such huge trunks full of money in US$ and other currencies are found in Dr Opuni’s house. Were they planted there just too falsely accuse him, or the money was put there by himself and if yes, why did he do that and who does the money belong to?

I shall suggest that the investigating authorities proceed to where he buried his late mum as it could happen that same trunks of money have been kept there presuming it is a cemetery where nobody may suspect he has got money stashed away. Did it not happen in Nigeria when one of the politicians interred a coffin full of money in a cemetery on deceitful presumption that it is a dead body?

The politicians are becoming cleverer in their devices to misappropriating funds but we need to outsmart them.

I am not being pre-judicial but Dr Opuni must be punished if indeed the money found in his house is a stolen money. Whatever his reason for keeping that money in his house is illegal hence he is culpable of theft.

Any NDC member that will rally behind Dr Opuni in an attempt to secure him freedom as opined by Kofi Adams is excuse me to say, a BIG FOOL who has no grey matter in their head.

I declare Dr Opuni guilty before he is proven innocent if really the money found in his house is his. I wish I could attach the video to this publication but I do not have the ability to.

Check for the video on WhatsApp. Dr Opuni will cough the money he had swallowed like the snake by name “panpansrada” (black cobra or whatever it is called) swallowing eggs. What was intention for keeping such a huge sum of money in his house as alleged on WhatsApp?
