
A woman is reported dead at Kulnyevila following a seven hour downpour on Sunday which flooded some communities in the Tamale Metropolitan area and Sagnarigu district.

Hundreds of people have been displaced in communities including Belpela, Sawaba, Datoyili, Gumani, Sagnarigu, Kalariga and Kulnyevila.

Several houses have been submerged while animals, poultry and other valuables have been carried away.
The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) is yet to assess the disaster and collate the actual statistics.

The Northern Regional NADMO is short of stock of relief items and expects rapid response from the headquarters.

Meanwhile victims of a rainstorm that hit Yendi Municipality, Gushiegu and Sagnarigu districts early 2016 are yet to receive relief items from NADMO.
