The Dormaahene, Osagyefuo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, has undertaken a number of development activities within his 17 years as paramount chief to improve the standard of living of the people in the traditional area.
He has instituted a GH¢200,000 scholarship scheme which has so far supported 200 students, while a GH¢200,000 guest house is being built for the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) on the Dormaa Campus.
In addition, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu also funded the construction of a mortuary facility for the Presbyterian Hospital in Dormaa and a 20-seater sanitary facility for the Dormaa community.
Activities marking 50th birthday
As part of activities to mark his 50th birthday, the Dormaahene will today lead his subjects in a clean-up exercise in his traditional area.
The clean-up exercise will be followed by a donation to the Dormaa Senior High School, his alma mater.
There will also be traditional activities at the Abanpredase Palace in Dormaa.
Earlier support
He has already donated 10 air-conditioners and 10 flat screen television sets to the Dormaa campus of the UENR.
The Dormaahene had earlier donated to the Dormasin SHS at Wamfie and the Chiraa and Bomaa SHSs, all in his traditional area.
He has currently established a 2,000 hectare tree plantation at the Asansu Forest.
Installed as Dormaahene
The Dormaahene was installed in 1999. Known in private life as Daniel Mensah, the Dormaahene has renovated the palace to befit the status of the stool and has successfully resolved a number of chieftaincy issues in the traditional area.
Other charity works
Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu built a police station for the Dormaa Police and founded the Aduana Football Club.
The very year that the club participated in the Ghana Premier League, it made history by annexing the league trophy and participated in the African Champions League the following year.
Education
Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu had his secondary education at the Dormaa SHS and proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon, for his degree and then to the Ghana School of Law to read Law.
He joined the Judicial Service, where he rose to the position of a High Court judge.
