Nursing and Midwifery Training College gets ultra-modern library

Sunyani, Sept. 21, GNA - Reverend Alexander Adams, the Board Chairman of the Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Sunyani, on Friday inaugurated an ultra-modern library complex for the College.

Attached to the 150-capacity library, constructed at the cost of GH¢ 217,000.00 through the institution's internally generated fund are four tutor offices and a business center.

Rev. Adams who is the Head Pastor of the Sunyani branch of the Fountain Gate Chapel, cautioned the students against minor theft, and asked them to return books and research materials they borrowed.

He also charged the students and the teaching staff to handle the books with care so that it would benefit more prospective students.

Mr. David Amalba Ayinne, the Principal of the College, observed that libraries contributed significantly to the growth and development of education and achievement of high academic excellence.

He therefore advised the students against relying solely on handouts and asked them to ensure the effective use of the facility especially at their leisure hours.

Mr. Ayinne noted that the library would not only spur academic and research work, but would also facilitate processes for the College to gain accreditation for University College of Nursing.

Mrs. Cordelier Yeboaa-Yeboah, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Chief Nursing Officer, said nursing is a divine call, and cautioned students who entered into the profession for just monetary gains to rescind their decision.

She warned that nurses who would go contrary to the ethics of the profession would not be spared, and asked the students to be disciplined and concentrate on their books.
