Takoradi, April 6, GNA - The Takoradi market circle on Saturday night experienced a serious fire outbreak which razed down some stalls.
However the swift response of personnel of Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) helped to reduce the extent of damage by the fire.
Reports say only three wooden structures opposite the big shed for the sale of smoked fish were affected.
The Western Regional Commander of the GNFS, Osei Dwamena told reporters that the cause of the Fire which started around 930 pm is yet to be known.
The last time the market experienced fire disaster was in March 2007.
