Kibi Presbyterian College of Education benefits from GETFund project

Kibi Presbyterian College of Education in the Eastern Region is to benefit from development projects that will solve staff accommodation problem.

The project is a construction of two-storey block of eight flats at the cost of GHC19 to be completed in 14 months.

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) is financing the project.

The Rev Nkansah Kyeremanteng, the Principal of the college at the sod cutting ceremony for the commencement of the project said that the facilities would bring to an end the accommodation problem confronting the college over the years.

Cutting the sod for the project, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey said the Presbyterian Church of Ghana was the first to establish formal education in the country.

He urged the contractor to speed up in order to complete the project on time.

The Moderator advised the products of the college to build useful networks through which they could mobilize resources to complement the development of their alma mater.

Education being an integral part of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana responsibility to the communities operates in Ghana; has more than 487 kindergarten and nursery schools, 984 primary schools and 399 junior high schools. The church also has over 40 Senior High Schools, 40 private schools, 6 vocational institutions and 5 teacher training colleges.

Apart from the Presbyterian University College, the Church also has the Akrofi Christaller Institute for Theology and Missions which is the first private university to get a Presidential Charter to award Doctorate Degrees.
