The Akuapem Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has built a four bedroom bungalow for the Presbyterian Senior High School, at Mampong to be used by the chaplain of school.
The project was funded through the Presbytery's Educational Fund aimed at supporting educational development within its catchment area.
This came to light when the Chairperson of the Presbytery, Rev George Kwapong on behalf of the Presbyterial Council and managers of the Educational Fund handed over the keys to the building to Mr Kwabena Nyamekye, the Akuapem North Municipal Director of Education at a ceremony at the school premises at Mampong Akuapem.
Receiving the keys, Mr Nyamekye, expressed appreciation of the GES to the Presbytery for the initiative.
He acknowledged earlier donations of official vehicles and laptops to all the 8 heads of Senior High Schools in the Presbytery and the Eastern Regional Manager of Presbyterian Schools.
The Municipal Director of Education was also delighted to learn that similar bungalows were under construction for all the eight Senior High Schools.
He encouraged the school to maintain the building well in order to ensure its longer life span and appealed to other churches to learn from the initiative of the Presbyterian Church.
The Headmaster of the school, Rev Ebenezer Akusaki thanked the Presbytery for the initiative and promised to put the build in good shape. He appealed to other organizations to come to the aid of the school.
The existing bungalow will be used as a Girls Dormitory Annex.
