An expatriate working with the Aboadze Thermal Plant of the Volta River Authority in the Western Region has died under bizarre circumstances.
The deceased, Anthony Brockle Bank, 36, was found lying dead in his room at Atlantic Hotel, Takoradi, on Wednesday.
Daily Guide leant that the deceased was one of the expatriates who have been contracted to work on some of the plants being put up by the power generation company.
The body of the British expatriate has since been deposited at the morgue of Eternity Funeral Home at Funko, near Takoradi.
Confirming the story, ASP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, Western Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), revealed that the deceased belonged to a company called Wood Group Ethos Energy in Britain.
She indicated that the expatriate, who was lodging at the hotel, was found dead in his room at about 11:15 am.
She explained that on that fateful day, some workers of the hotel were on their routine inspection of the rooms after their clients had gone out.
When they got to the door of the room of Anthony, they knocked several times but got no response.
The hotel attendants then went for a spare key to open the door. The police officer said when the door was opened, the expatriate was found naked with his head on a table.
"The officials of the hotel then quickly called for a medical doctor who, upon getting to the scene and examine the body, disclosed that the man had died about four hours ago", ASP Adiku adrlori.
