Former First Lady and Founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, in reaction to speculations that she intends  going back to join the ruling the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has claimed that she has no intention of going back to the party.

Close aide to the die-hard woman politician, Joseph Bediako, has told DAILY GUIDE that Nana Konadu has no such intention; and was rather occupied with preparing the grounds for the party (NDP) she formed out of the NDC, to win the 2016 general elections.

Some pro-NDC papers are said to be pushing the agenda.

A charged Bediako, who is also a leading member of the NDP, stormed the offices of this paper claiming that that vile speculation was the machination of some executives of the party who had been compromised by the NDC.

'They have been compromised and they think they are using that as a bait to get the former First Lady to join the NDC; but I can tell you for a fact that the woman has no such intention. I'm just coming from a meeting with her and nothing shows she will go and rejoin the party', he said.

Bediako said, 'She told me in plain language that she would never go back to join the party.'

He recalled with nostalgic memory the cold treatment given to Nana Konadu during the NDC's Sunyani and national delegates' congress as well as her visit to Cape Coast where she was nearly lynched.

According to the aide, 'The same people are going round saying Konadu recommended certain individuals for President Mahama to appoint as Ministers,' denying it flatly.

Beginning September, the NDP man said, the former First Lady would begin a nationwide tour of all the 10 regional capitals to interact with interim executives of the NDP so that they could begin work in earnest ahead of the 2016 general elections.

This, according to Bediako, would be followed by the distribution of membership cards to all registered members of the party.

'So those going round saying Madam is in constant contact with the President's brother, Ibrahim, are telling lies because she says she does not even recall the last time she spoke to Mahama himself, let alone his junior brother', he emphasized.

He recalled, 'The last time she met President Mahama was during the anniversary celebration of the Asantehene's ascension to the Golden Stool and the President's Sessional Address, but they didn't even speak at those programmes.'

The tough-talking Bediako therefore noted that 'Come what may, she will contest in 2016 so the supporters should not fall for these schemes; instead, they should remain resolute because she is not in talks with anyone in the NDC, let alone considering the option of joining them.'
