GNA

Nsawam, April 30, GNA - The chiefs and the people of Nsawam and surroundings communities on Thursday commended the Nsawam Police led by Superintendent Otchere Boapea, for clamping down on criminals in the area, especially in the area around the Densu River.

Nana Bow Ababio II, chief of Bowkrom, near Nsawam told the GNA at Nsawam that traders, farmers and school children could now send their food items to the market centres to sell without trouble from gangsters. Nana Ababio, who is also the acting Nsawamhene, said few months ago, some criminals started harassing the poor farmers along the Densu Bridge by snatching their bags, mobile phones, monies, and other personal belongings.

Nana Ababio said they also attacked the women during market days on Mondays and Thursday.

Nana Ababio later appealed to the Inspector General of Police to help the Nsawam Police with logistics to combat crime in the area.
