Prophecies, Condemnations Et Al

I have followed the ongoing condemnation and support of one Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah regarding his prophesy on the life of our president . I know that after reading this article many will take me to the cleaners for supporting him but I am only looking at an issue based on what was reported and passing comments thereon. I would like to quote salient parts of the news item that carried the prophecy or whatever name we may choose to call it.

“The founder and leader of Glorious Word Ministry International, Rev.Isaac Owusu Bempah has predicted that Ghana's current President, John Dramani Mahama, will die this year unless the President and his advisers take steps to reverse it. (modernghana).

My understanding of the above statement is that he said the prophecy was not set in stone but it is REVERSIBLE.

“According to Rev Bempah, the earth-shattering prophesy was revealed to him on the night of December 31, 2012 and he announced it at the Church's end of year service.”(modernghana)

This portion also presupposes that the revelation was not given to him at the time he was making the statement on whatever radio station he was talking to but about a month before.

The news item went further to state that “He bemoaned his inability to meet the President and inform him about the dark cloud hanging over his head and the necessary steps to be taken to avert the looming disaster.”(modernghana)

And the news item quoted him as saying:

“I have not been able to meet the President and inform him. A similar thing happened when I prophesied about the late President Mills, but they turned me away.”(modernghana)

This is where I have a beef with those who think the Prophet was causing fear and panic as well as those who think he did not act ethically by bringing such an important issue as the death prophecy of our sitting president into the public domain.

He said that just as happened when he wanted to meet with the late president Mills on a similar prophecy he is being blocked from seeing the sitting president.

I feel his frustration because what if his prophecy comes true just as the ones he had about our two prominent people came true last year? How else was he going to get to the president in the face of these frustrations?

What will he say to his God whose word tells us that he reveals to redeem? And in this case he says he was told what must be done to avert the 'death'.

Our senior pastors who wanted to rubbish the prophecy used certain criteria which I would beg to disagree with especially the one about who trained Prophet Owusu Bempah. That argument is neither here nor there because God is no respecter of persons, otherwise God would not have chosen to reveal what He was about to do to the prophet Eli to little Samuel, who was innocently sleeping. I think there were other recognized men of God in Israel at the time!

I believe strongly that if Prophet Owusu Bempah wanted cheap popularity he would have adopted a wait and see attitude and when it happens, at least he has members of his church who were there when he revealed the prophecy as his witnesses, but as a true citizen who loves his country and to me, who believes that it is too much for Ghana to lose two presidents within a year or two, he chose to air his frustration at his inability to get this prophecy taken care of. Instead of Ghanaians praying for the president here we are lambasting the messenger.

I am hereby humbly appealing to President Mahama to interact with the prophet, listen to what he was told and what can be done to avert it and follow the directions that the prophet will give for the 'death' to be averted. I believe that if he does this he will be the better for it if the prophecy is true, and if it is not true he does not lose anything.

We saw it from 2009 to last year when the hangers on decided to play politics with the life of my former boss only for the nation to hear one afternoon that our president was no more. We cannot afford that!!
